ABOUT SSAT
The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is used for admission to private schools, boarding schools, and the military. It assesses students’ verbal, math, and reading skills.
The Middle Level is for students currently in grades 5, 6, and 7.
The Upper Level is for students currently in grade 8 and above.
ABOUT ISEE
The Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) is used for admission to private middle schools and private high schools. All levels of the ISEE measure students’ verbal and quantitative reasoning skills.
The Lower Level is for students currently in grades 4 and 5.
The Middle Level is for students in grades 6 and 7.
The Upper Level is for students in grades 8 through 11.
ABOUT HSPT
The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is primarily used by Catholic high schools to measure the verbal, math, and reading skills of students applying to 9th grade. The HSPT is administered by individual schools. Students must register for the HSPT through the prospective high school.
